Olivia & Cal | Oregon Coast Elopement

Olivia and Cal’s Oregon Coast Elopement was both intimate and adventurous and one of my favorite sessions to photograph to date.  We began the evening by hiking to the elopement destination in our hiking gear. Once we arrived, Olivia and Cal changed into their elopement attire. We arrived an hour before the sunset making for soft beautiful light and moody coastal views. 

I always get so excited when booking an elopement shoot. Elopements are all the rage these days because the photos speak for themselves. Elopements have several advantages over traditional weddings that will make your day extra special and intimate; not to mention the photos will be to die for. 

First, the day is truly about you and is focused on your love. There are no rules when it comes to elopements! You can make the day exactly what you want it to be and in a place that you love. Rather than focusing on catering to your guests needs, you can focus on each other. I always find that couples are able to relax and actually enjoy their day which is evident in their elopement photos. 

Elopements also allow you to choose a special location. Rather than booking a venue that may not be ideally located, you can elope almost anywhere! Elopement backdrops are often far more jaw dropping than traditional wedding venues. I can help you find an elopement location that suits you whether you are lovers of the mountains, desert, or ocean. Olivia and Cal’s location on Oregon Coast is one of my favorite places for an intimate and stunning elopement. 

Lastly, timing is everything when it comes to capturing amazing elopement photos. Traditional weddings often hold couples to a strict schedule that doesn't allow for photographers to capture the moment during ideal lighting. Elopements are far more flexible and can be planned during sunrise, golden hour, or blue hour to ensure the best photographs possible.
